In the welding operations of shipbuilding, bridges, steel structures and other industries, there are often long right-angle welds welded, and automatic welding is mostly used, with welding trolleys, automatic welding arms and more efficient multi-electrode welding methods. For T-row multi-electrode welding, our company launched GFL-70C iron powder type flux cored wire with GCL-11G metal powder type welding wire, which is being accepted by more and more customers. This welding combination method has high welding speed, excellent zinc powder-resistant primer, and beautiful weld bead formation. The deposition efficiency of the front wire GCL-11G is as high as 97%, mainly due to the amount of filler metal, and the rear wire GFL-70C ensures the formation of the weld bead, and the welding speed can reach 1000-1400mm/min. It is mainly suitable for flat welding and flat fillet welding of various structures such as ships, bridges, machinery, vehicles and steel structures.wps_doc_0

The biggest feature of this welding method is its high efficiency, multi-electrode welding at the same time, and there is no need to worry about the interference of polarity and magnetic field. Each group of fillet welds has two sets of welding torches, and each group has front and rear wires. The front wire has better porosity resistance and serves as a large amount of filler metal. The rear wire only needs to ensure that the weld bead is formed flat, uniform and clean. The existing characteristics of the iron powder type flux cored wire, as the back wire of this combination, can just meet the requirements of its matching shape and appearance. The welding torch angle and distance adjustment of this welding method are shown in the figure below:

Note: Adjust the distance between the front and rear wires according to the actual heat of the molten pool during welding

This welding method can obtain the desired welding expectation by adjusting different welding parameters. By adjusting welding current, voltage, welding speed, welding torch distance, etc., different welding angle sizes can be obtained.

Another: 9-12mm welding angle can be achieved by readjusting the specific welding torch angle and welding speed. Weld bead as shown below:

For this welding method, please also follow the following welding recommendations and precautions

1. Clean up surface debris, rust, oil stains, and oxidation residues, otherwise it may cause pores or defects such as poor molding.

2. Excessive water vapor content will affect the welding quality and cause pores. If the humidity is high, proper dehumidification should be done before welding, and one-sided overnight welding should be avoided.

3. The thickness of the paint film is generally controlled at 15-35um. If the paint film thickness is too thick, it will easily cause pores, and it needs to be polished if necessary.

4. The gas flow rate is controlled at 20-25l/min, the dry elongation is controlled at about 20~25mm, and the wind speed exceeds 2m/s, and necessary shelter is required.

5. When combined welding:

(1) The front wire GCL-11G welding power panel selects the solid gear, and the rear wire GFL-70C welding power panel selects the core gear;

(2) When welding fillet welds, each group of quadrupoles is carried out in a way of facing each other with front and rear wires.

The above is for reference only, please feel free to enlighten me if there is any inappropriateness.
